Field Journaling is really for everyone. It has been a unique skill used by naturalists and explorers for hundreds of years. Now more than ever it is a powerful way to help us all truly connect with nature. Call it fun, call it therapy, call it art . . . once begun, it can quickly become a welcome and meaningful source of enjoyment.
As a naturalist and artist, The Nature Man has been creating field journals for years. He will be revealing the secrets of great field journaling, everything from how to make your own journal, to interpreting your world through simple but effective thumbnail sketches, descriptive and interpretive writing and even poetry.
You will learn how to make your field journals more exciting by adding color and design. And he will address ways to record your observations that come naturally and spontaneously.
Materials for creating your own notebook and a variety of drawing and coloring supplies will be available. If you have already been journaling, he will be happy to share his insights about your journals and offer simple and effective ideas to help you achieve your goals.
Time will be shared both indoors and outdoors with easy walking. Please dress appropriately.
Cost $20 per student (includes the cost of materials).
